Working at height

Published on 11/05/22 1342 Views

The dangers of working at height are obvious: there is the possibility of falling but also the fact that the available space may be cramped. You also need to consider the risks to anyone below the worksite from dropped tools or objects. Also, you should think about how you could be rescued from your working at height location if things go wrong.

Ask yourself and your crew:

  • How can something like this happen here (e.g. on our site)?
  • What safety measures (i.e. procedures, controls/barriers) do we have in place to mitigate the risk?
  • How do we know the risk controls/barriers are working?
  • What improvements or changes should we make to the procedures, controls/barriers or the way we work?
