Fire breaks out at crude oil refinery due to pipe leak

A refinery which processes crude oil experienced a leak in one of its pipes carrying hydrocarbons which led to a fire. A worker had noticed liquid dripping from a distillation pipe 14 feet overhead and reported it. Action was taken to get inside the pipe, including blasting the pipe with high pressure water. This made the leak worse and liquid hydrocarbons came pouring out and a vapour cloud and ignition occurred.
